With profound sadness, Together For The Good announces the passing of one of our beloved members:

Every life tells a story. Some chapters are well known, while others remain known only to those who loved them most.
Much of Ron's early years remain a mystery to us. What we do know is that after the tragic loss of his father at a young age, he answered the call to serve his country—a decision that became a lifelong commitment to honor, duty, and sacrifice.
Ron proudly served his country for over 20 years in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic, serving during the Vietnam War with honor, courage, and unwavering integrity.
Following his honorable service he continued his serving in the Army National Guard as a Military Police officer assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 126th Infantry, where he faithfully served until retirement.
He later continued his dedication to public service through his career with the United States Postal Service until his retirement.
Among the many moments that defined Ron's military career were his deployments, one of the most significant chapters of his service came during the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, where he served as a Military Police officer and responded during the tragic Olympic bombing.
For his honorable service and decisive actions, Ron was recognized by the Secretary of Defense with one of the nation's highest honors bestowed for his service.
Outside of the uniform, Ron found joy in life's simple blessings. He enjoyed sharing a cold beer with friends at the neighborhood corner bar, sitting peacefully on his porch reflecting on the fruits of his labor, and spending countless hours talking about the military—a passion that remained with him throughout his life.
The final years of Ron's journey were marked by tremendous heartache. In 2022, he mourned the devastating loss of his beloved sister to COVID-19. Not long afterward, he was diagnosed with Cancer related to Agent Orange exposure.
Long before his final chapter, Ron had already changed lives. His journey became the inspiration behind Together For The Good's S.T.E.P. (Stabilization, Transition, Empowerment & Purpose) Program—a program created so that veterans, first responders, and those rebuilding after homelessness or crisis would never have to walk that road alone. Every life restored through S.T.E.P. will forever carry a piece of Ron's legacy."
Ron faced every challenge the same way he had lived his life—with quiet strength, determination, and on his own terms. He placed his trust in the Lord and chose to let God decide when it was time for him to come home.
Though his final chapter was difficult, it was never without love. He was surrounded by those who cared deeply for him, and today we honor a life lived in faithful service to his country and to those around him. We are forever grateful that men like Ron answered the call to serve.
We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to Tellious Scott Sr, for the extraordinary compassion and selfless sacrifice he demonstrated during the final years of Ron's life.
Thank you for opening your home, your heart, and your family to ensure that a fellow soldier would never have to face his final journey alone.
You truly embodied the meaning of the military creed, "Leave No Soldier Behind," and honored that promise until Ron's final breath.
Your example reminds us all what brotherhood, sacrifice, and unwavering loyalty truly look like.

A private celebration of life will happen at a later time. Burial with honors will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
