Max and the Ax is a story set directly on a vast, working timber farm and processing facility—which even features bison!

Meet Max! He is full of curiosity and laser-focused on his family's land and equipment. Max was born into generational wealth because his parents built this entire timber and bison operation before he was born. Because running the farm and owning the land is Max's responsibility too, he learns about property management, tracking safety tags in the tool shed, and respecting the equipment. Meet Pam! She runs a highly diversified farm featuring bison, goats, chickens, cabbages, red onions, grapevines, carrots, and persimmon trees. This deep diversification enhances the entire ecosystem—providing natural fertilizer, grassland health, pest control, fresh vegetables and fruits, goat milk, and multiple streams of income.

Pam uses a tractor as a powerful tool to complete all her work across this vast estate. Along the way, she overcomes obstacles like running over a pan in her path, managing her emotions when she becomes frustrated, and seeing how her mom uses tools to change a flat tire.

This book “Sam and the Bag” features a powerful mission! Meet Sam! Sam loves being in his fruit orchard where they grow apples, pears, persimmons, and figs. Whether he is helping to harvest cotton and peanuts or exploring the land he owns, Sam shows Kindergartners that they can be agriculturalists, landowners, and entrepreneurs—all while mastering their first words. 🌿👑

Let’s talk about annihilating mental barriers and systemic blocks. I am intentionally planting seeds in the minds of our children because economic dominion is their absolute birthright! 🌿👑
In "Sam and the Bag," we are openly dispelling the post-traumatic slave syndrome around picking or "harvesting" cotton. Did you know cotton is a multi-billion dollar business industry? Through our intentional cotton field imagery, we are reclaiming that narrative and our wealth.

On the farm, Sam has so many tools in his bag to harvest fruit and cotton. He has to use force to overcome gravity and motion to move up the hill, and he finally takes his tractor to carry the massive loads back down. We ask our children: Why does Sam accelerate going back down the hill?

We use this high-level visual imagery to teach true agribusiness and the concept of farm-to-table and farm-to-marketplace. This book “Pat and the Can” features the context of my family experience! I grew up around horses all my life. My cousins Ricky, Billy, and Tony had horses and my cousins K.K. and Bo Bo had horses. I got to ride and feed and care for them in New Town at the family horse pen. 🐎👑

In Pat and the Can, not only does Pat's family own thoroughbred horses, they own a wheat and barley farm in addition to watermelons and peanuts and persimmon trees.

The highlight here for parents is on the hundreds of thousands Pat's family earns per horse therapy session which could be $1M plus annually in just this one stream of income!

The farm also features an extremely significant fresh water spring for irrigation. The spring provides water for Pat’s family’s crops, irrigation, and watering his horses. Also, the spring is housing for fish as a source of food. These springs filter pollutants which helps the water quality for anyone downstream.

I use visual imagery to teach agribusiness and the concept of farm-to-table and farm-to-marketplace! I want our children to see themselves in stories about landowners, farmers, entrepreneurs and leaders. I want them to see beautiful Black families!
