My name is Becky (Rebecca) Jennings. I am a 4th year Bachelor of Music Therapy. I am from Algona Iowa. Why do I enlighten the campus and community: I enlighten the community for multiple reasons. As an advocate for the individuals who are on the spectrum and for their families. To educate everyone about ASD and how it is not about finding a cure but rather it is about accepting individuals for who they are. Individuals on the spectrum just have a different way of thinking about things than someone who isn't on the spectrum. Also, because I want to appreciate differences in all individuals for their abilities.

My name is Cheyanne Saddler and I am a first year from Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. I am an elementary education major with endorsements in special education and reading. I enlighten my campus and community because I want to help educate those around me. Everyone should be able to walk through life celebrating their differences, never having to apologize for who they are. Most of the time those who judge others don't understand and those who understand don't judge others. Individuals with Autism deserve to live their lives being exactly who they are without judgement and educating others is a step in the right direction!

Happy Enlightenment Week everyone! Over the next couple of days we are going to post pictures of our committee members along with their statements of why they work to enlighten our campus and community. Stay tuned and have a fabulous Monday!
