Welcome Back, Class of 1976!

The Waverly High School Class of 1976 was back in town celebrating their 50th class reunion this weekend!

As part of their celebration, classmates had the opportunity to tour the school, walk the halls, and revisit a few familiar places from their high school days. It was a special opportunity to reminisce, reconnect, and celebrate 50 years of memories and friendship.

The Board of Education met with our search firm consultants on Wednesday, August 26th to develop a plan and timeline for hiring our next Superintendent.

We had the pleasure of welcoming our teachers to the 2026-27 school year. The vision has been set, the priorities have been communicated and the message is clear. We are excited to begin another year.

We would also like to recognize our 10 year award recipients.
Mr. Cockerill - Mr. Pearse - Mrs. Sutter - Mrs. Sacks - Mrs. Last - Mrs. Reinwald - Mrs. Sabin - Mrs. Standage.

We are excited to have our classified staff back on Monday and students later in the week. We look forward to seeing parents at our open houses.

In addition to welcoming our new teachers, we would also like to thank a number of staff who worked hard this summer to get our schools ready. A shout out to our custodial team, grounds and maintenance department, administrative assistants, principals, transportation department, and central office staff. We are ready for a great school year!

We are in the middle of spring cleaning and surplussing a vending machine. We are accepting sealed bids for the pictured vending machine. Interested individuals may submit a sealed bid to Business Manager Mikal Shalikow, 14511 Heywood St, Waverly, NE 68468. Questions can be directed to Mikal Shalikow, [email protected]

Documentation: All bids must be presented in a sealed envelope

Labeling: The exterior must clearly state your name, address and contact information

Actual Bid: Must include the following, Vending Machine Sealed Bid - $__________ (put in your maximum bid)

Deadline: Bids must be received by August 10, at 2pm. Bid will be opened at 5:30pm at the District Central Office 14511 Heywood St, Waverly, NE 68468

Signatures: It is mandatory that all bids are signed.
