Congratulations to the Gooses & Mooses Drinking Juices from Longfellow, which tied for 9th place in the Technical challenge at DI Global Finals! They competed against teams from Texas, Maryland, California, China, Washington state, Massachusetts, Quebec, Korea, Turkey, Mexico, and Guatemala, to name just a few. We are grateful to them and their amazing team manager for representing Longfellow and the Wauwatosa School District so well on an international stage. Way to go, Gooses & Mooses—we could not be more proud!!

Longfellow’s Gooses & Mooses Drinking Juices had another amazing day at DI Global Finals in Kansas City! The first order of business: competing in Instant Challenge, which required them to solve a challenge they had never seen before in just a few minutes’ time. They won’t know their scores until Sunday afternoon, but we know they did a great job and had fun. Then they were free to participate in some of the other activities Global Finals is known for, including the Duct Tape Runway Show and pin trading, which allowed them to meet and interact with peers from all over the world. This awesome Longfellow team is truly taking advantage of all that Global Finals has to offer!

Longfellow’s Gooses & Mooses Drinking Juices rocked their performance in the Technical challenge, “Win It Big”! The challenge required the team to create and present a game show, with a host character and at least one contestant; build tension with a raising-the-stakes event; and design and create a gimmick, a reveal, and a razzle-dazzle effect. The team answered the challenge by creating the “Who Wants to Be a Pharaoh?” game show. Their skit was charming and funny, and it also reflected all the students have learned about ancient Egypt in social studies classes at Longfellow. What’s more, the presentation included a puppet and a model of the Sphinx—all made by the students themselves, with no help from anyone outside the team. What a great example of the multidisciplinary, project-based, collaborative learning that is the hallmark of Destination Imagination. Way to go, Gooses & Mooses!

Gooses & Mooses Drinking Juices from Longfellow have arrived in Kansas City and are ready to take DI Global Finals by storm! The first event on the agenda: Globals’ legendary Opening Ceremonies, featuring the parade of teams, a medley of national anthems for the 11 countries represented at Globals, a dazzling performance by an acrobatic/dance troupe, and—of course—a laser light show. Tomorrow morning the team will present their team challenge solution. Good luck, Gooses & Mooses!

Thank you to the Wauwatosa School District, Dr. Means, and the school board for recognizing our 12 DI teams bound for the state tournament next month, as well as the Longfellow team that won awards in the DI Film Challenge last fall. We’re so proud of all our DI’ers!

We are so proud of the 22 Wauwatosa School District teams that participated in Saturday’s regional tournament! Once again this year, Tosa had more DI teams than any other community in Wisconsin. Participants ranged in age from 5K to 9th grade and represented nine different Tosa schools. Wow!

Special shout-out to the 12 Tosa teams that qualified for the state DI tournament, to be held next month in Sun Prairie.
