In this seminar, we will discuss novel pathways and neural circuits that help maintain proper heart function. We will focus on the role of local renin-angiotensin system activation in the brain in maintaining a balance in the autonomic nervous system. Finally,
we will discuss whether overactivation of this system might contribute to the development of cardiovascular diseases.
