We are so excited about sharing the progress on the Six Nations Schoolhouse 🏫

We let it be known we we're starting to paint the morning of Monday 10/6
Our guys came and we're suprised by Ray Ullrich and his guys Jay, Don and Joe that came to help and brought scaffolding to keep everyone safe. It was a blessing not painting in a tractor bucket on the peak, as planned 😊

All stayed until late afternoon, Bert brought the guys a lunch and I came later and got some pictures πŸ“· They got it all painted Monday and started a second coat on some areas. Yesterday, Sunday, 10/13 the Ullrich crew returned, as promised, I'm not sure who all came as we couldn't make it but, they finished the second coat πŸ₯³πŸ‘πŸ»The schoolhouse looks beautiful, and we are so thankful for their hard work.
We still have windows to scrape the sign to freshen up and put back 🏫
We also have plans to make new curtains, then we are all finished with this newest round of repairs & updates to keep this beautiful historic landmark still going πŸ₯³πŸ‘πŸ»

We are thrilled that it was painted within a week. So, thankful for everyone that helped make it happen, from our old Six Nations Schoolhouse friends and some new ones. For those that worked and gave time, to those that show up every year for our annual meeting & picnic and donated.
We did it again! Thank you! God bless you all. Billy, Bob, Larry, Bernie, Mark, Ed, Ray, Jay, Joe, Don & Bert.

This year 2025 marked our 104th Annual meeting & picnic.

The next one will be held July 25th 2026 at noon.

Hello Family & friends, we had a lovely time at the picnic, August 5th, and spent some good time visiting after our meeting. With present business discussed about a quote we got for the roof we decided unaminiously to go ahead with the roof project for this Fall. We didn't have all the money needed for the project but close enough that we felt we could do it with donations. As of September 1st, we have the project started and near completion with the much needed replacement of the roof. Those at the meeting and a few more have made financial donations. We were given a quote of $1850. The materials cost were actually two hundred dollars more. Our contractor has billed us for the $1850 but we would like to do at least $100 more for him. We have almost all of what we need to pay our bill on Tuesday, September 5th. If you would like to join us in bringing this project to completion please contact Sue. What donations we have over the cost of the roof we will use for painting the building. Probably setting up a time in the Spring to come out and help us scrape the weathered paint & repaint. Eventually we will need to replace/ repair the windows. We are getting there folks, and doing a wonderful job maintaining our local historic landmark!! This year's picnic was our 102nd year of the Six Nations School House Picnic. See the pictures of our progress. Thank you all! πŸŽ‰
