For children with visual impairments in Mexico, access to literacy remains a major challenge. Despite the availability of textbooks, a lack of specialized teacher training means roughly 85% of the blind people in Mexico don’t know how to read or write in braille.
But Perkins is helping change that.
Through our programs in , we’re training educators to break down barriers to literacy and create more inclusive classrooms. By equipping teachers with the skills to support students with visual impairments, more children can access braille, participate fully in school, and build the foundation for lifelong learning.
