We need help during Irish Fest. We have been given the opportunity to make some money helping take money for parking at the Elks Lodge downtown 7/31, 8/1, and 8/2. We need two adults and 3-5 students for each shift.

What a beautiful night for a concert with the Waterloo Municipal Band. Last night a new tradition was started where students from East and West were invited to perform with the band. They had one rehearsal Wednesday night and the concert was Thursday night. It was a privilege to play with the band and my students and to conduct them.

Let’s keep the tradition going.

We have several students playing at this concert, and yours truly will be conducting and playing as well. 7:30 pm at the Riverloop Amphitheater.

Day 3: This was the last day and man everyone is whooped. Started out with a tour of RCA studio B where so many great artists recorded including Elvis Presley and of course Dolly Parton. So much music history in that building.

Then off to Category 10, which used to be the Wild Horse Saloon and is now owned by Luke Combs, where we enjoyed a variety of food and line dancing. Our kids now how to move.

Had a good walk in 90 degree heat, while storming all day at home, to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Finally, ended with a show at the Grand Ole Opry. It’s celebrating 100 years this year and we got to see several artists including Scottie McCreery. It was so awesome and the venue was spectacular. This space was new in 1974 because the old Opry building was too small, but they kept a section of the old stage and inserted into the current stage within a solo circle. It was very special.

Our hotel staff said our kids were amazing. So respectful and followed the rules at all times. Pleased and thank you’s all over the place.

Day 2: Performance day. Titanic museum and choir/orchestra performances. Island of Pigeon Forge. It was a scorcher but the humidity was down. The students LOVED the museum and we were complimented on the maturity and professional behavior of our students. The guide said we were one of the BEST high school groups ever.

Then to the Island where the band played some good classic pop tunes, rode more rides, and shopped. Now for a chill ride to Nashville for the last leg of our tour.

Day 1: Tennessee Waltz Trip 2026, Dollywood
The rain held off all day but man is it humid here. All had a great time and the crowd was really great.

Amphitheater concert tonight, NOT at the Amphitheater😂😂😂. Come get some dinner from Bringin the Chi who will open at 5:00 in the athletic parking lot.

With the colder temps, rain chances, and wind, the concert will be moved to the East High Gymnasium. We still wanted to make it a light and casual event for everyone and Bringin the Chi will still come from 5 to 7 PM and will be set up outside the athletic entrance. We will also have the Commons open for people to come in and eat or you can bring it in the gym while performances are going on.
