Student Spotlight: Cora Mahler - Public Health Major

"The Public Health Program has enhanced my work in health care by helping me understand the bigger picture of a patient’s health. I've learned that health is influenced by much more than medical needs alone. Factors such as environment, access to care, lifestyle, and community all play an important role.

This knowledge will help me better understand my patients, recognize the challenges they may face, and provide more compassionate, well-rounded care. Having a public health background will also strengthen my ability to communicate and collaborate with patients and fellow health care professionals."

The highly respected Radiography program at Allen College develops healthcare professionals with the skills and competencies needed to produce quality medical images. Through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on clinical experiences, students learn to use science, anatomy, and physiology to perform X-rays, CT (computed tomography), and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scans.

Graduates are fully prepared to enter the workforce and can continue their education by earning a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree at Allen College.

From the Home Health Suite to the nurses' station, hospital rooms, and exam rooms, this incredible space transforms into a real-world healthcare environment the moment you walk through the door.

We cannot wait to welcome our students to campus and watch them learn, practice, and grow in this state-of-the-art facility. We're also excited to showcase this amazing space to our community.

💙 Graduate Spotlight

For Bachelor of Health Sciences (MI-MRI) graduate Syeda Binte Salem, today's graduation was about more than earning a degree.

Syeda and her daughter traveled from New York to Iowa to walk across the stage, wearing a graduation gown with a story all its own. It was the same gown her father wore when he graduated from college. Though he passed away a few years ago, Syeda carried his memory with her as she celebrated one of life's most important milestones.

What a beautiful tribute to the person who helped shape her journey.

Congratulations, Syeda. We wish you all the best as you begin this next chapter. 🎓✨
