Cedar Valley Catholic Schools Early Childhood Program

Building the foundation of an excellent education for children 6 weeks old to Preschool. Students participate in weekly music and physical education classes.

Blessed Sacrament Early Childhood Center offers childcare to children 6 weeks of age to 3 years old, along with preschool (3 years old) and pre-kindergarten (4 years old). Our youngest students spend their days learning socialization skills, as well as, age-appropriate concerts and lessons designed around the Iowa Early Learning Standards. As with all levels within the Cedar Valley Catholic School

s system, the Catholic faith is central to instruction and to their interaction with each other. Scheduled prayer services and service opportunities help our littlest learners develop a relationship with God and a path toward helping others.

We love when our littlest learners are included in school spirit! Yesterday, everyone from Nursery to PK4 participated in a midday Pep Rally to celebrate Homecoming.

New Year, New Name, New Location, Same Loving Community!

Cedar Valley Catholic Schools' Early Childhood Program is excited to begin a fresh new year in our new location, surrounded by both familiar faces and new friends. We're ready for another year filled with laughter, learning, and love!

It's Wednesday and we're back with another CVCS Staff Spotlight! Today we're featuring Cherith Oesterling, our Onsite Supervisor at Blessed Sacrament Early Childhood Center!
Cherith works in the office at Blessed Sacrament ECC. She has been in her position for 4 years. Prior to that, she worked at a different center in the Cedar Valley for 13 years. Cherith has always loved working with children and while she loves kids of all ages, she has a sweet spot in her heart for the 2-3 year olds. Cherith was born and raised in Waterloo and feels blessed to be in the same building as her two kiddos everyday. They keep her busy and make her laugh and smile each day! Her family is big into games and Cherith's favorite genre is trivia!

🚌🌟 Field Trips to the Phelps Youth Pavilion 🌟🚌

This week, our PS3 and PK4 classrooms embarked on an incredible adventure to the Phelps Youth Pavilion! It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable experiences. From exploring interactive exhibits to unleashing their creativity through art and play, our little ones had an absolute blast!

Big thanks to all the amazing educators and staff who made this trip possible, nurturing our children's curiosity and joy for discovery. And a special shoutout to the Phelps Youth Pavilion & Waterloo Center for the Arts for providing such an enriching environment for our youngsters!
