Dear my old timers,

As a few of you have reached out and asked for details on the 2023 Washington County’s Old Timers Showmanship contest, I’m writing to inform you I do not have any involvement or affiliation with the show that is being held at the Washington county fairgrounds.

In 2015, I had a vision of revisiting and reliving past memories of the Washington County Fair by putting on a show that let alumni back into the ring. A vision turned reality, I was able to do just that. Larry’s old timers showmanship contest was constructed off the fundamentals of highlighting the past, through our older friends and family, cattle, goat, hog and sheep showman enthusiasts alike.

The American Cancer Society of Washington county, Mon Valley’s relay for life, The Mrs. Claus Club of Bentleyville, Washington County Fair’s Ty McCloskey Memorial Beef Barn, and most recent our dear friend Scott Sutton’s battle against cancer all benefited from this fundraiser. My grandfather believed in doing right by people no matter the situation and helping when able. I am very fortunate and honored to help where I could these past years in his memory and thank those who have shown support along the way.

Since 2015, over $24,000.00 was donated amongst the above causes. As this show has had a huge impact on my life and others, please stay tuned. Great things are meant to grow and I plan to keep making this bigger and better.

What a night to watch some Old Timers relive the glory days! Congratulations to everyone and thank you for the many laughs!
Also thank you to all who lent a helping hand to make this night happen. It was so special to me and many others!
To the Old Timers that could not be with us that night, you'll always be with us in your own unique ways at the Washington County Fair!

See if you can walk away with one of these Grand or Reserve Showmanship banners at Larry's Old Timers Showmanship Contest tonight in the Harry Hank Show Arena. The show will begin immediately following the steer show and registration will begin at the start of the steer show on the opposite side of the arena below Crystal's Cafe. Let's see what Old Timers still have it!

The third annual Larry's Old Timers Showmanship Contest is only hours away! Let's see who will walk any with a Champion or Reserve banner this year! Registration will begin at the start of the steer show, under Crystal's Cafe on the far side of the Harry Hank Show Arena! The contest will begin immediately following the steer show. Hope to see everyone there!

As the beginning of August is here, that means the Washington County Fair is right around the corner! As tradition, Larry's Old Timers Showmanship Contest will be held for the third year! In the Harry Hank Show Arena on August 15, 2017 at 8:30p.m., the old timers will be battling it out to see who still can catch the judge's eye. I'm truly honored to be able to host this event for a third year and to watch the show grow for a great cause each time around.
I would like to send out a warm THANK You to all past exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, judges, and the fair board. Without all of you, this show would not to be possible.
I hope to see everyone there, to see if the Old Timers still got it!

The banners are in for the Old Timers but I don't have many old timers to battle it out for them! The show is Tuesday night of the fair, after the steer show. As summer is almost here and the show season is under way, Larry's Old Timers Showmanship Contest is getting ready for the 2016 Washington County Fair! The show will be held on Tuesday August 16, 2016, directly following the selection of Champion and Reserve Overall Market Steer Showman. Stay posted for updated registration forms and sponsorship forms! I am also very pleased to announce that last year's show raised close to $5,000.00 for the American Cancer Society in loving memory of my pap, Larry Putnak. I can not thank all helpers, participants, and sponsors enough for your generosity! Let's make this show twice as great!

The show order has changed for today. The show order will be cattle, hogs, sheep, goats. Check in and a mandatory pre show meeting will be held at 9:30 am in the show arena. Hope to see everyone there!!

Attention to all showmen that are interested in competing in the Larry Putnak Old Timers Showmanship Contest! The entry deadline for a free t-shirt is August 1st, THIS SATURDAY! All entries must be postmarked by August 1st to be accepted for the t-shirt! Sponsorships are rolling in but hardly any entries! If you are definitely going to compete, private message me, Krista Bosanac. You can give me all your information and you will still be able to get a free shirt, as long as you pay your entry.
