The St. Landry Parish government informs residents that the shelter will remain open for those impacted by flooding and rising water concerns. The shelter is located at the Yambilee Building on 1939 W. Landry Street in Opelousas where the American Red Cross will be operating and managing shelter services. Use the QR codes provide to report flooding and evacuation status in affected areas in the parish.

Residents reporting to the shelter must bring a valid photo ID and are encouraged to bring essential items including:
Medications
Important documents
Clothing
Personal necessities

Please remember that Summer LEAP Retesting starts tomorrow. While we are still testing the subjects on the scheduled days, testing will be at MACA instead of North Central. 📢 Important Summer Camp Update

Due to rising water levels and the voluntary evacuation in our area, Palmetto Elementary and North Central summer camps are canceled effective immediately.

• North Central LEAP students will complete testing at MACA.
• Palmetto Elementary DIBELS testers will test at Grand Prairie. Parents of these students have already been notified.
• All other students will not attend summer camp.

The safety of our students, families, and staff is our top priority.

While some people are relaxing for the summer, our Hurricanes and Coaches are putting in work to prepare for next season. Our boys went 3-0 today at OHS for summer league! We are on a mission and won't stop until we reclaim what is ours. Let's Go Hurricanes!
