Campus assets create greater value when they’re managed as part of a larger institutional strategy. Too often, facilities, programs, and services operate independently, creating duplication, competing priorities, and missed opportunities for greater impact. An integrated operating model changes that. By managing campus centers as a connected portfolio, institutions can strengthen financial performance, optimize resources, reduce operational complexity, and make more informed decisions about where to invest for the greatest return.

The latest CENTERS Solutions explores how this approach helps colleges and universities connect operational performance with institutional priorities, turning individual campus assets into a more powerful driver of mission, margin, and long-term value. Facilities don’t create impact. The people who operate them do. For the past two years, the Sonnentag Event Center for Health and Wellbeing has served as a hub for recreation, wellness, campus life, and community engagement. Every event hosted, every space prepared, every program delivered, and every guest experience reflects the work of a team committed to something bigger than the building itself.

Great operations are rarely noticed when they’re done well, but they’re felt in every interaction. They create environments where students thrive, partnerships grow, communities connect, and institutions deliver on their mission. To our Sonnentag team, thank you for the professionalism, accountability, and consistency you bring each day. Your work is the reason this facility continues to create meaningful value for the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and the Eau Claire community.

Flooring is more than a facility decision. It is a foundational investment that influences safety, lifecycle costs, maintenance efficiency, risk management, and the experience of every person who walks through the door. In the latest Campus Rec Magazine feature, Dominic DiMauro, Director of University Recreation for CENTERS, LLC at Jacksonville State University, explores why the most successful recreation facilities are built on decisions that balance operational performance with the needs of the campus community. From selecting the right surfaces for each activity space to considering durability, maintenance, and long-term value, his insights highlight how thoughtful planning creates lasting impact.

Key insights include:
- Align facility investments with the intended function and demand of each space.
- Evaluate decisions through the lens of long-term value, not just upfront cost.
- Prioritize safety and performance to enhance the user experience while supporting operational efficiency.
- Recognize that infrastructure decisions shape the longevity, functionality, and success of recreation facilities.

The best facility decisions are the ones that continue delivering value long after installation. Dominic shares practical insights for leaders planning spaces that perform today and well into the future. Read the full article to learn more:

The future of campus recreation isn’t defined by the equipment itself. It’s defined by the strategy behind every investment. In the latest Campus Rec Magazine feature, CENTERS, LLC leaders Mike Weaver, FMP at Marshall University and Chris Stewart at Cleveland State University share how institutions are approaching cardio equipment through a broader lens, balancing student expectations, operational performance, sustainability, lifecycle planning, and long-term value.

At CENTERS, we believe the most impactful decisions happen when data, experience, and purpose come together. It’s not simply about outfitting a fitness floor. It’s about creating environments that strengthen the student experience while positioning campus recreation for the future. We’re proud to see our team contributing to conversations that help shape what’s next across higher education.

Leaders are rethinking cardio equipment investments by balancing student demand, connected technology, sustainability and long-term value.

At CENTERS, we believe AI isn’t about replacing expertise. It’s about expanding it. The organizations that will lead tomorrow aren’t the ones with the most technology. They’re the ones investing in people who know how to ask better questions, think more critically, communicate more effectively, and use new tools with intention.

That’s exactly what AI Learning Week was about. Over three days, our team explored practical applications of AI across leadership, communication, campus recreation, critical thinking, and people management. More importantly, our own employees stepped forward to share their knowledge, challenge perspectives, and create conversations that will continue long after the sessions ended.

Because innovation doesn’t happen when information is locked away. It happens when people are willing to teach, learn, experiment, and grow together. Technology will continue to evolve. Our commitment to developing curious, adaptable, forward-thinking people will too. That’s how we stay ahead. More importantly, it’s how we help our clients stay ahead.
