Spanning multiple disciplines, dozens of labs and faculty, and strengths in building, evaluating, and envisioning AI technologies, RAISE (Responsibility in AI Systems and Experiences) is a leading center for research, education, and leadership in the area of Responsible AI.

At RAISE, we envision a future where AI systems are developed, deployed, and used with a strong alignment with human values. These systems will solve complex problems and help make decisions in all areas of our lives, but do so in responsible and ethical ways. They will provide experiences for the users that not only augment and enhance their tasks, but also enlighten, enrich, and educate them. We believe AI systems designed with responsibility and human values will enable us to create a future where people can benefit from technological advancements in a more equitable way; address existential problems to humanity such as climate change, access to food, water, and lifesaving medicines; and support a healthy democracy and planet.
