2023 highlights. But I’ll be honest…
This was absolutely a year of “sit down, be humble” for me. Which is why I know 2024 will be so much different. Some years are go hard af years and some years aren’t. 🤷🏾♀️
Now I don’t usually do words for the year (mainly bc I forget my word like 6 days in & also bc it’s lowkey corny) but if I had to choose one for 2024, it’d be discipline. David Goggins level discipline. 💪🏾 I’ve been plotting and planning and 2024 will produce the fruit of that labor.
I hope regardless how 2023 went for you, 2024 is amazing in some transformational way. 🙏🏾
Anyway, it’s time to celebrate so I’ve gotta go but enjoy and relax and let’s get this week and this year off to a great start. 💃🏾

Riding horses was something my mom told me was incredibly dangerous and unnecessary and I only saw white girls doing it but did ANY of that keep me from getting on a gd horse? Hell naw. I would go sleepover my friends’ houses and they’d go to the stables and I’d “just pet them”. 🤭

And then I got old enough to take lessons and worked as an assistant to a horse farmer lady who had carpel tunnel and in exchange for helping her do random dumb s**t I could ride.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was inventive, resourceful and determined. The crazy part: I hear my mom’s voice and feel her fear every single time I get on a horse. But I’ve ridden horses on the beach in the ocean, on mountains in Southern California, on fox trails in Virginia, on several vineyards, some sketchy place in MD and a ton of other places. I’ve even been bitten & run away with.

But I. Don’t. Care. I wanted what I wanted then and that s**t still applies today.

Moral of the story: Go after what you want, sis. 💯
Don’t always listen to the adults around you and definitely don’t let someone else’s fear keep you from enjoying your life. 💗🙌🏾🐎
