SB0334 / HB0577 are moving forward in Maryland, targeting what’s defined as “machine gun convertible pistols.” The House of Delegates gave initial approval with some amendments on April 6.

These bills would ban future sales and transfers of certain semiautomatic handguns. As written, current owners would be grandfathered in, meaning what you already legally own wouldn’t be affected.

No need for rushed decisions but definitely stay informed, read the language carefully and watch how this develops.
