On January 17th we were once again honored to participate in the Coming of Age Ceremony at the Embassy of Japan with our colleagues from Georgetown, George Washington, and Howard Universities.

The Japan Fair 2024 enjoyed 152 visitors and 24 exhibitors! The times and date were: October 23rd, 4:00 to 6:00 PM in Mary Graydon Center room 128.

We are very grateful to all of the wonderful exhibitors and visitors! We would especially like to thank for arranging the event as well as the many volunteers for their assistance.

On Thursday, September 26th, Jacob Erhart presented on U.S. Military in Okinawa as part of the Summer Scholars program. Dr. Ken Knight was faculty mentor for the research project.

The AU Japanese Program had an amazing time celebrating our biggest event of the semester 秋祭り Fall Festival!!!

We are very grateful to have had Ikebana International demonstrating the various arts of flower arranging

explaining the origins of origami and showing everyone how to make an origami turtle

Finally we want to also thank Tokiya Japan for giving a talk and demonstration on Japanese kimono and Yukata patterns

Join us this Sunday (October 23rd) from 1:00-5:00 pm at the Bentley Lounge for our first Fall Festival hosted by the Japanese Department! We will have Ikebana demonstrations, a kimono try-on demonstration by Tokiya Japan, and an origami workshop taught by Mr. Stephen Granier

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about Japanese culture and get to know the Japanese staff at AU!!
