DC Service Jam Join us for the Global Service Jam's DC chapter on March 20-22, 2020! WHAT IS THE GLOBAL SERVICE JAM? The Jam has a staff of none and a budget of nearly nothing.

In more than 100 cities around the world this year, design thinking enthusiasts will join forces on the weekend of March 7-9th to solve a global service challenge. They will be designers, artists, business people, mothers, community members, students and legislators. They will meet with one goal in mind: to create, protoype and publish a new service in less than 48 hours. The Global Service Jam is a non-profit volunteer activity organized by an informal network of service design afficinados, who all share a common passion for growing the field of service design and customer experience. The first jam was held in 2011 with nearly 800 participants in 40 cities across globe and resulting in over 100 new service concepts. The event continues to grow each year. The DC Service Jam will take place just six short blocks from the White House in Washington D.C. It is one of 14 U.S. locations. THE DC SERVICE JAM

The DC Service Jam will be hosted in Washington D.C. at the Uber Offices coworking space, near Dupont Circle. Attendance is limited to 40 people to accommodate the best possible group experience. When: March 7th, 2014, 5:00pm - March 9th, 2014, 5:00pm. The office will be open 24-hours (starting Saturday morning) to accommodate the event so bring what you need to hunker down for the weekend. Where: Uber Offices, 1200 18th St NW, Washington, D.C 20036, convenient to Dupont Circle (Red) and Farragut West (Orange/ Blue) metro stations

What to Bring: Imagination! An open mind! A generous spirit! A notepad. We'll have basic prototyping supplies to share but if you have a specific resource you like (e.g. laptop, camera, video camera, playdough, Legos, etc.), bring it. Also: anything you'll need to pull an all-nighter if you choose to Jam through the wee hours of the night into Sunday morning! What to Expect: A fun weekend of teamwork with enthusiastic people, new tools for your service design toolkit, scrumptious meals AND a solid service prototype, created by you & your team.
