THE MEANING OF AAYAH IN THE QUR’AN
🔴 The Arabic word ‘Aayah’ is commonly known among Muslims to mean ‘verse’. In today’s episode on the Science of the Qur’an, we are going to look at the other meanings of the word Aayah.
🔴 Aayah as a sign or indication: Allah says: “And their prophet said to them (children of Israel), “The Aayah (sign) of his kingdom is that there shall come to you wooden box..” (2:248)
🔴 Aayah as a lesson: Allah says: “ In this there is a lesson (aayah) for those who give thought” (16:11)
🔴 Aayah as a Miracle: Allah says: “Ask the Children of Israel how many Miracles (aayah) We gave them” (2:211)
🔴 Aayah as a verse or sentence: Allah says: “And when We change an Aayah (verse) in place of another aayah ( verse) - and Allah knows best what He sends down..”
