Using UV beads to learn about how UV can be detected is a great way to get student's attention. My students are always amazed at how the beads instantly react to the sunlight. They love how each bead color is different. UV beads can lead to a great discussion on UV exposure and the imporantace of protecting our skin. Kids might crate a way to use UV light to power things we use. My students loved making bracelets and necklaces with their beads.
