"My program director was right: I love China. When he first said this at orientation, I was not completely convinced. I was jet-lagging and felt overwhelmed by all the new apps and enormity of China. Yet, eight weeks in, I have gained a new perspective. China is such a special country, and I hope more foreigners prioritize visiting China. "

At CET, learning goes beyond the classroom 🌏✨ These photos highlight an overnight trip from our Taiwan Indigenous Peoples course, where students visit the Tribe in Hualien County.
During the trip, students engaged directly with locals and traditions by:
🏹 Meeting a traditional Truku hunter and visiting a hunting home
🎵 Participating in a dance at the TAI Body Theatre
🍃 Learning how to make banana rice dumplings (a traditional Truku delicacy)
These hands-on experiences give students meaningful cultural understanding and firsthand insight into Indigenous communities in Taiwan today.
