"My program director was right: I love China. When he first said this at orientation, I was not completely convinced. I was jet-lagging and felt overwhelmed by all the new apps and enormity of China. Yet, eight weeks in, I have gained a new perspective. China is such a special country, and I hope more foreigners prioritize visiting China. "

From championship wins in Italy to film workshops in Germany—our Spring students have been making the most of every moment abroad!

⚽ made program history by bringing home the championship for the very first time—winning all 11 matches against other study abroad programs 🏆 Soccer is a huge part of Italian culture, and our students fully rose to the occasion!

🎬 students traveled to Germany for a weekend of film workshops, lectures, and visits to iconic cinema locations. They also met Berlin filmmaker, Ralph Etter, and learned more about his work and experiences in the industry.

🚶‍♀️ students concluded one of their Traveling Seminars in Vienna with walking tours and guest lectures from experts!

Academic Travel Abroad, our parent organization, is committed to the Decarbonization Fund in partnership with Cool Effect. Cool Effect is a nonprofit focused on reducing carbon emissions through scientifically-proven, hand-selected carbon projects worldwide 🌎✨

For each trip one of our team members, travelers, or students takes, we donate to three carbon projects chosen by staff volunteers yearly. This past year, we donated $83,100 and contributed to the following projects:

• The Giving Trees - Uganda
• Sea of Change - Myanmar
• Home on the Range - Colorado

At CET, learning goes beyond the classroom 🌏✨ These photos highlight an overnight trip from our Taiwan Indigenous Peoples course, where students visit the Tribe in Hualien County.

During the trip, students engaged directly with locals and traditions by:
🏹 Meeting a traditional Truku hunter and visiting a hunting home
🎵 Participating in a dance at the TAI Body Theatre
🍃 Learning how to make banana rice dumplings (a traditional Truku delicacy)

These hands-on experiences give students meaningful cultural understanding and firsthand insight into Indigenous communities in Taiwan today.
