Congratulations to our GNSA Leadership Council Chair and PhD, Gemma O'Donnell!

Gemma O'Donnell, PhD, MSN, RN, CCM, recently earned her PhD in Nursing and Healthcare Innovation from Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation at Arizona State University. Throughout her doctoral journey, Gemma remained committed to advancing dementia care, supporting family caregivers, and helping build dementia-friendly communities across northern Arizona. Her research focuses on how bereaved dementia caregivers maintain continuing bonds in ways that support adaptive grief. As nursing faculty at Maria and Steve Sanghi College of Nursing at Northern Arizona University, Gemma looks forward to continuing her work in nursing education, community-engaged scholarship, and advocacy for older adults and their families. She is also excited to continue her research collaborations with Dr. Zachary G. Baker in the Former Dementia Care Lab, supporting research focused on improving the lives of former dementia caregivers.

We are so proud of Gemma for reaching this incredible milestone. Thank you for always leading the GNSA with integrity and vision. Your future is so bright!
