The evening explores the intersections of history, disability rights, and the ongoing pursuit of inclusive excellence. Sponsored by the FDR Memorial Legacy Committee and American University’s Office of Inclusive Excellence and the Department of History, the evening highlights the remarkable story of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s leadership, the grassroots activism that led to the installation of the wheelchair statue, and the broader question of who is represented in our national memorials.

Guests will view a screening of the award-winning short FDR: Great Abilities, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Max Paul Friedman, Chair of the Department of History, American University.

For more information about transportation, parking, and accessibility accommodations, please contact the Office of Inclusive Excellence ([email protected]).

We’d love to see you there!
