Israel's first president, Chaim Weizmann, described the Palestinian people as "the rocks of Judea… obstacles that had to be cleared on a difficult path".

If there was still any question about whether Israel is committing genocide, just look at what they're doing to the Palestinians in northern Gaza right now:

- Israel has killed least 640 Palestinians in northern Gaza in the last 17 days. At least 87 Palestinians were killed by an Israeli strike on residential buildings in the city of Beit Lahia this weekend.

- Israel is openly targeting hospitals and refugee camps in northern Gaza, and is refusing to allow any humanitarian aid into the region, with UN agencies warning that Israel is trying to starve out the region.

- Israel is working to forcefully displace around 400,000 Palestinians in northern Gaza:

For those who stay, they are faced with starvation and treated as "enemy combatants."

For those who leave, they risk being targeted on the road to southern Gaza, targeted at any over-crowded refugee camp they go to, they have no guarantee of access to aid, and they are treated like "enemy combatants" by Israel for existing.

As UNRWA spokesman Jonathan Fowler described it: "The situation in north Gaza is like a catastrophe within a series of catastrophes. There's simply nowhere safe in Gaza."

Israel's treatment of northern Gaza today is just a version of what it has been doing to the more than 2.3. million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip (including more than 1 million children) for over a year now, and the U.S. has been complicit in the genocide every step of the war. No "30-day warning letter" from Blinken is going to change that.
