Last month, we welcomed our newest cohort of Ambassadors to Washington, D.C. These student leaders from across the country spent a weekend learning about the nation's most pressing fiscal challenges, discussing different perspectives, and brainstorming solutions.

Now they're bringing that experience back to their campuses, where they'll lead conversations on the issues shaping their generation's future.

We're proud to support young Americans who are ready to learn, lead, and find bipartisan solutions. We look forward to seeing the impact our Ambassadors make this semester!

With FAFSA season underway, many young Americans are preparing to borrow for college. For most, a student loan is their first long-term financial commitment, often taken on before they've had a full-time job or managed debt of any kind.

But they often don’t know what they're agreeing to. Interest keeps accruing on the balance over time, so the total you repay can end up well above what you borrowed.

Our latest explainer breaks down how student loans work, the types of loans, and what you can expect in repayment.👇

Many Americans have noticed their grocery bills climbing — and the national debt is one factor worth understanding.

The national debt can increase the costs of getting those products onto the store shelf. As it grows, it can put upward pressure on interest rates, increasing borrowing costs for farmers and grocery stores. Those costs are passed along to you, the shopper.

Understanding how these costs connect can help us better understand what we’re paying at the checkout counter. Read more in our latest article.👇

Over the course of the weekend, participants engaged with policy presentations on the national debt, took part in an interactive exercise on Social Security insolvency, heard directly from alumni now working on Capitol Hill and beyond, and connected with fellow Ambassadors from across the country.

Why did the Fed raise interest rates — and what does it mean for you?

The Federal Reserve recently raised its target range for the federal funds rate by 0.25 percentage points, bringing the range to 3.75–4.00%. While consumers, businesses, and the government don't pay this rate directly, it shapes borrowing costs across the entire economy.

Our latest video breaks down what the federal funds rate is, why the Fed adjusts it, and how those changes affect everything from credit cards and auto loans to mortgages and the national debt.

Did you hear that the Federal Reserve raised interest rates this week? 💵

You might be wondering why the Fed would raise rates when that makes borrowing more expensive. The goal: higher rates can help ease inflation and bring down the cost of everyday goods.

Buying a home just got a lot harder. ❌

Mortgage rates just hit 7% — the highest in over a year. Did you know that as the national debt climbs, so does the cost of borrowing? That means buying a house will get a lot more expensive.
