What’s the T.E.A. at GGA?! T.E.A. (Topic Evidence Analysis) is a skill students have been using throughout the school year in preparation for DC CAPE. On Wednesdays during office hours, students were given 9 open response questions as a 10-week intervention. Students who answered 6 out of the 9 questions were invited to our T.E.A. party today 👒☕️. Student came dressed to impress and enjoyed some tea + pastries. DC CAPE is 2 days away, let’s go trailblazers 😎

This month we are celebrating Women's History Month! Today we'd like to highlight the Founders of Girls Global Academy, Shayne Swift and Karen Venable-Croft. Opening up DC's FIRST all girls public charter high school is no small feat. This took advocacy, canvassing and continuing to create direct relationships with the DC community. Both our founders have over 20 years of experience supporting students transition from middle school to high school. Help us in celebrating our Founders for paving the way for GGA! Take a look at our story to learn more about our Founders vision for GGA.

Congratulations to our Open Mindedness recipients for January's IB Monthly Trait Awards! Every month at GGA, teachers nominate students who they feel exemplify the IB monthly trait - January's was Open Mindedness. Students who were nominated for this IB trait "appreciate our own cultures and personal histories, as well as the values and traditions of others." These students also also receptive, nonjudgmental and unprejudiced. Help us in congratulating our open minded trailblazers!

Thank you so much to the GGA Transition Team! 9th and 10th grade students worked on resumes, reviewed promotion requirements, and asked questions of our 12th grade students to glean some much needed wisdom. The next PD day for 9th & 10th grade is 2/14!
