What People Saw VS What Was Really Happening //

I’ve seen so many moms posting lately, feeling depressed and alone and hopeless. I can’t help when it comes to some external conditions, but sharing my truth might offer some comfort and insight so if this found you
 from one mom to another...

The effects pregnancy/postpartum/motherhood has had on my mental health took me by surprise. Prenatal hit me hardest, but in both pregnancies it was a long season of depression.

I was lucky enough to have a support system around me that encouraged me to seek specialized care. Let me be clear: If you’re feeling this heaviness, please do that without shame.

Find a remote therapist specialized in prenatal/postpartum depression.

Open up to other moms. So many of us experience these things but keep it to ourselves until someone else shares first.

Change your habits and be honest about what’s not working— at a pediatrician appt, the doctor noticed I was off and asked if I was okay. It was the first time I said “I am not okay” out loud.

Remember, professionals like your OB-GYN and your doula are part of your village.

Support is EVERYTHING during pregnancy/postpartum and all too rare. If you are in a season, please know I’ve been there, too, as have so many of us. 02/27/2026

Hey mamas: Just a reminder that motherhood wasn't meant to be done alone and there's no reason why you have to. There's no prize for suffering in silence. Here's your reminder to reach out to someone in your village today. https://instagram.com/reel/DUOa5AvkW1Z/
