We just can not get enough of us being back playing at Tubman 😍

Needless to say, it’s been a long two years without one of our favorite fields!

Our sixth captain to be spolighted for Captains Appreciation Month is Tony Kellaher! Tony is the captain of FC Cats in our Tusday Coed D4 league. He has been the captain of FC Cats since they started playing in DS back in 2013! Check out what his players had to say about his dedication to their squad in his nomination:

Tony has been our captain for almost 15 years now, through all the ups and downs he has stayed committed to our team and the comunity we have built through the years. On top of his dedication, he is a great communicator. He has put all the team captains in our league into a group chat. They keep stats for the entrie division, including a golden boot race. Tony consistently goes above and beyond as a captain, and is more than deserving of this recognition!

Have you heard? TUBMAN is back ‼️🙌

After two long years of construction at Tubman Elementary we are back playing Sunday soccer right in the heart of Columbia Heights.

We stopped by last weekend to ask players what it means to them to be back playing at one of our favorite fields!

Our fifth captain to be spolighted for Captains Appreciation Month is Sylvia Lynch! Sylvia is the captain of two teams - Dip Chips in our Sunday Coed D2 11s league & ChipWrecks in our Wednesday Coed D3 league! She has been playing in DS leagues since 2018, but has only been a captain for a couple years and is crushing it! Check out what her players had to say about her in her nomination:

Sylvia has been an outstanding captain and leader for our team over the last several years, both on and off the field. Not only does she keep us organized week in, week out, but she also sends out a fun and dramatic detailed recap every week and comes up with a star “chip of the match.” If that wasn’t enough, she also organized an offshoot weeknight team so we’d have more opportunities to play together. The list of Sylvia’s great captain qualities could go on and on, but the fact that she attended almost all of our summer games in full uniform (even being the only person with a ball at one), despite being injured, sums up her dedication and support.

Our fourth captain to be spolighted for Captains Appreciation Month is Ethan Kunhenn! Ethan is the captain of Indomitable Jabronies in our DCPL 3 league! She has been playing in DS leagues for over a decade, and became captain of Jabronies in 2024 after playing with the team since 2013! Check out what his players had to say about him in his nomination:

Ethan has brought a team, that’s over 10 years old, back into a strong, organized, and passionate team. He’s been a true captain for years, who deserves his flowers. He also plays like prime Rodri and Busquets in one!
