Why No Makeup? Let’s Talk About It.
If you’re a mom considering pageantry for your daughter, you may be wondering about our no-makeup rule for our younger divisions.
We think it’s one of the BEST things we can give our youngest delegates.
No worrying about finding the perfect foundation. No professional makeup artist. No lashes, contour, or trying to make your daughter look older than she is. No comparing her makeup to another little girl’s. And no pressure on Mom to spend hundreds of dollars just to make sure she “looks the part.”
Instead, she gets to walk onstage as HERSELF.
We want our youngest girls to learn that they don’t need makeup to be beautiful, confident, polished, or competitive. We want the judges to see their genuine smiles, personalities, communication skills, stage presence, and everything that makes her uniquely HER.
And Mom? You get one less thing to stress about.
Pageantry should be an opportunity for your daughter to grow, not another place where she feels like she needs to change herself to fit a certain standard.
There will be plenty of time for makeup when she’s older. Right now, we want her to enjoy being a kid, step on that stage, and know:
“I don’t need to look like anyone else. I just need to be me.”
That’s the IUM difference. And honestly, we think your little girl is pretty perfect just the way she is. ❤️
