Global food commodity prices generally declined in October, according to the latest FAO Food Price Index and AMIS Market Monitor.
โ Cereals, meat, sugar, and dairy prices fell
โ Vegetable oil prices rose slightly
โ Fertilizer prices also declined

FAO Food Price Index, AMIS Market Monitor See Generally Declining Commodity Prices in October | Food Security Portal The FAO Food Price Index fell 1.6 percent in October, driven by lower cereals, dairy, meat, and sugar prices. The October Index was 21 percent below its March 2022 peak.

Despite improvements, Uganda's refugee population continues to face alarmingly high food insecurity
๐ข Uganda hosts the worldโs 6th largest refugee population.
๐ 712,000 refugees (37%) are expected to face acute food insecurity through February 2026.
๐ Thatโs down from 48% in mid-2025โbut still alarmingly high.
