Parents, PTA representatives & Enrichment Coordinators,
Is your school looking for a Boys running club? This running club is designed for 3rd-5th grade boys. My name is Sheila Cordaro, Founder / CEO of CORDARO FIT ® and BOYS GOTTA RUN! ® I have served the Arlington Community in Fitness & Health for over 16 years and have earned recognition as "Best Personal Trainer" and "Best Kids Fitness Program
" by readers of Arlington Magazine and the Sun Gazette as well as Arlnow.com, an online publication. I developed the BOYS GOTTA RUN! ® program because I saw a need. Being a mother to an active son with a short attention span, it seemed logical and necessary to get him moving before he needed to sit and think. Running is often used as a building block to other sports like soccer, basketball, football, or tennis. Conversely, some children aren’t interested in ball sports or team sports so presenting running as an activity that they can participate in as an individual or on a team like track, cross country or BOYS GOTTA RUN! it may be what works for them. The health benefits of running & exercise go beyond physical fitness. Young runners will experience improved sleep, increased self-esteem and confidence, stronger ability to concentrate, decreased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, and lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels. There is a powerful and scientific impact that exercise has on the brain. My hope is for you (educators & parents) to discover the benefits of this concept through their performance at school and home. BOYS GOTTA RUN! helps young runners find confidence in trying something new, sticking to a routine, and realizing their ability to set and achieve goals. Our sessions are offered once a week for 7 weeks for $145 (*includes Team T shirt, BGR! swag & 5K race on the day of the final session). Each session is an hour long and includes warm-up exercises, a brief discussion about a core Pillar of Character, running assignments which increase by 10% each week, and a cool-down. The running assignments involve games and group challenges which makes running more fun. Additionally, I am in the process of identifying dates for a mini-summer running camp. Please let me know if you are interested in order to be considered for the camp. We are inviting schools to sign up for our Fall session. If you're interested in learning more about the program, let's schedule a meeting before the start of the school year! In fitness & health,
Sheila
