Research Libraries and having developed tools that have raised millions for library renovations, improvements in library services and growth and development for library staff, Martha Kyrillidou launched QualityMetrics, LLC in 2016. Since our inception we have completed numerous state wide evaluations for the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) activities funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. We worked with the U.S. We worked with the DC Public Library and had the honor to identify exemplary programs where incarcerated people are given second chances in employment opportunities through partnerships between legal and library programs. We have identified innovations, pressures, and opportunities that chart a bright future for libraries as they are readily transforming their services and embracing the education, economic, social and community challenges of the 21st century. We work with libraries that are developing user-centered, warm, caring, and empathetic environments for the learners of today and tomorrow. The first two years of QualityMetrics, LLC, was the time I got to really know the U.S. having traveled to states I had not had an opportunity to travel before, from Maine to Montana, from Montpelier in Vermont to Weslaco in Texas. The story of library service emerges vividly through the LSTA Evaluation Reports. I encourage all librarians to take a good close look at them. A worthy project would be a meta-analysis of these reports as they are now in their fourth five year cycle and provide an amazing picture regarding the value of library services in the U.S. My extensive work in international environments in earlier years tells me that our sameness is as important as our differences. I encourage all my international friends to read through the LSTA Evaluations with an eye on library development activities in their own contexts. There is so much we can learn from each other!
