Proud isn’t even the word!! Take a listen to this amazing news story that just aired on KRGC - CBS in Missouri 03.30.2026 by reporter and Howard University graduate, Amya Henry. Cade Carman, ScholarCHIPS scholar and student at the University of Missouri (2024 cohort) shares his moving story and how he and his mom learned about ScholarCHIPS and how the program has positively impacted him.

This story also sheds light on our incredible partnership with one of our corporate partners Securus Technologies & JPay. This year, for a second time we have joined forces and are sharing the ScholarCHIPS program and application with incarcerated parents in jails and prisons across the country on over 500,000 tablets! The positive connections we are seeing between incarcerated parents and their college-bound children is truly inspiring.

We are beyond proud of our scholars…your bravery, courageousness and willingness to tell your stories on such large platforms…owning your story and helping to inspire thousands upon thousands of other youth like us who are experiencing the pain and challenges of having and incarcerated parent, but pressing through with resilience, grace and determination to earn your college degrees.
