The MA in Language & Communication at Georgetown University is a program is designed for people who want to pursue careers in linguistics outside of academia.
The program features coursework in applied and sociolinguistics as well as professionalization.

🎉 GLSA hosted an epic happy hour in Poulton Courtyard! Even our campus doggo Jack the Bulldog dropped by for pets! Everyone was enjoying the late summer evening ☀️ warm sun, shady tent, drinks and snacks—even karaoke 🎤 🎶 🦄 It was the perfect way to get together after our first speaker series event and meet new members of our LING community. Spend this Saturday, Sept. 6 with linguists (and book lovers) at the 25th Annual National Book Festival! The Language Science Station — an NSF-funded project creating partnerships between language researchers and Planet Word — will have lots of activities, including an opportunity to participate in a Georgetown research study.

Last Friday, our GLSA team joined the Graduate Student BBQ & Student Org Fair! We shared upcoming workshops, highlighted past events, and connected with 45+ new interested members (and plenty more great conversations on all things ling and beyond 🤓).
Our booth also featured a cozy Ling Lounge — a spot for grads to relax, chat about books, grad life, or whatever’s on their mind.💬📚 Big thanks to everyone who stopped by! We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events – keep an eye out for our memos!
