And today we also celebrate the moms in our community who inspire us and trust us with their children.

Yesterday, our Co-Founder Raúl Echevarría testified at the DC Council OSSE Oversight Hearing about the importance of protecting child care funding.

Child care is the foundation of a strong workforce and economy. When programs that support educators, families, and community-based schools are weakened, the entire system is affected.

Raúl urged the Council to protect three critical pillars of DC’s early childhood system:

• The Pay Equity Fund – supporting fair compensation for early childhood educators
• The Child Care Subsidy Program – helping working families afford care
• Stable access to Pre-K seats for community-based providers

Investing in early childhood education supports working families, educators, and the long-term health of our economy.
