Chase's $1,000 Business Card Bonus Has a Catch
Chase just increased the welcome bonus on the Ink Business Cash® to $1,000 — but there’s an important catch you need to understand before applying.
The current offer lets eligible new cardmembers earn $1,000 cash back after spending $8,000 on purchases within the first four months of account opening. The card also has a $0 annual fee and offers 5% cash back on the first $25,000 in combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable, and phone services each account anniversary year.
But the biggest question isn't simply, “Can I earn $1,000?”
It's whether you're actually eligible for the welcome bonus.
Chase states that the new cardmember bonus may not be available if you've previously had this card or another Chase for Business card without an annual fee. Chase may also consider other factors related to your business when determining bonus eligibility.
And there's another important distinction: qualifying for the welcome bonus does not guarantee that your application will be approved. Chase evaluates applications separately.
In this AN TIMES breakdown, we'll look at what the $1,000 Chase Ink Business Cash offer actually requires, who should pay attention to the eligibility restrictions, and why the offer could be especially interesting for certain small-business owners.
If you're comparing business credit cards, don't just look at the biggest number on the screen. Look at the spending requirement, rewards, eligibility rules, annual fee, and whether the card actually fits your business expenses.
