The sisters of Sigma Delta Tau at American University welcome you to our page! We recently celebrated our 25th Anniversary as a successful chapter.

The Gamma Delta chapter of Sigma Delta Tau was founded at American University in 1980. Sigma Delta Tau was founded by Dora Turteltaub, Amy Tishman, Marian Greenberg, Grace Grossman, Inez Ross, Regene Cohane, and Lenore Rubinow in 1917 in Ithaca, New York at Cornell University. Today’s senior spotlight is Jamie Gottlieb!

Jamie is a Beta Delta with a major in Jewish studies and a minor in leadership and management! During her time in Sig Delt, Jamie served as President, on the National Nominating Committee and as assistant philanthropy! Jamie’s favorite memory from Sig Delt was getting to spend quality time with her sisters! During her time at American, Jamie was an AUx peer facilitator, a beatboxer in Pitches Be Trippin, an AU complex problems program leader, in AU Hillel, TenliTunes, AU Rude Mechanicals and AU players! Jamie has interned at Hillel International, the Ethiopian National Project, the Religious Action Center, the Interfaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington, and AU Hillel! We wish Jamie all the best!

Today’s senior spotlight is Rebecca Lamis!

Rebecca is a Beta Delta with a major in Business Administration with a focus in Entrepreneurship! During her time in Sig Delt, Rebecca was a VP of Finance, on marketing committee, and on social committee! Rebecca’s favorite memory from Sig Delt was watching her little Mychaella run an amazing philanthropy event and watching her glittle Sophia run an incredible retreat! During her time at American, Rebecca has founded two art-based companies, been on the executive boards of both the AU Players and Rude Mechanicals and served as the operations specialist at the AU Library! She was also Director of Operations and Outreach at DuPont Underground! After graduation, Rebecca will continue living in DC and growing her company Asteria Entertainment and working for a startup non-profit, Songs For Good as an Entertainment Liaison! We wish Rebecca all the best!

Today’s senior spotlight is Meghan Holl!

Meghan Holl is a Beta Delta with a major in political science with a concentration in law and politics! During her time in Sig Delt, Meghan served as VP of Recruitment, VP of New Member Education, assistant recruitment, standards board, COB committee, slatting committee! Her favorite memory from her time in Sig Delt was going to the 2018 National Convention in Cleveland, OH as a rising leader, and attending the 2019 National Alternative Summer Break (ASB) program in Philadelphia, PA! During her time at American, Meghan was a desk receptionist on east campus and an AU Campus Manager for University Tees! She has interned for Rep. Al Lawson! After graduation, Meghan will be working for Sigma Delta Tau National HQ as a leadership consultant for the 2020-2021 school year! We wish Meghan all the best!

Rebecca Miller is a Beta Delta with a major in law and society with a minor in psychology! During her time in Sig Delt Rebecca served on social committee and marketing committee, and served as Sisterhood Chair, Outreach/Engagement Chair, and Vice President of Programming! Her favorite memory from her time in Sig Delt was planning and running formal events! During her time at American she was in AU Democrats! Rebecca has interned at the Peace Corps and the National Organization for Women! We wish Rebecca all the best!

Theo is a Beta Delta graduating Cum Laude with a double major in journalism and public health! During her time in Sig Delt, Theo served as VP new member educator and assistant new member educator! Her favorite memory from Sig Delt was meeting her little Cam! Theo has interned at the National Health Council, the DNC, and 826DC! After graduation, Theo will be working for the National Health Council as a Marketing and Communications Associate! We wish Theo all the best!

Sarah is a Beta Delta graduating with history honors with a major in history and a minor in marketing! During her time in Sig Delt, Sarah was President, philanthropy chair and marketing chair! Sarah’s favorite part of Sig Delt was watching her sisters grow and leadership and on a personal level! During her time at American, Sarah served as Freshman Committee Chair in JSA! Alex is a Beta Delta graduating cm laude with a double major in history and secondary education! During her time in Sig Delt, Alex served as the secretary for her new member class, ritualist, VP of recruitment and new member educator! Alex’s favorite part of Sig Delt was meeting her best friends, her fam, and her past and future roomies! During her time at American, Alex worked at AU Phoneathon! She has interned at Hillel Greek Life, a preschool in Israel and the Smithsonian National Zoo’s education department! After graduation, Alex will be working as a social studies teacher in Montgomery county schools! We wish Alex all the best!

Annalise is a Beta Epsilon graduating Magna Cum Laude with a double major in psychology and International relations. During her time in Sig Delt, Annalise served as sunshine chair, assistant new member education, standards board member, sunshine committee, marking committee, and philanthropy committee! Annalise’s favorite memory in Sig Delt is when she and her GBig spent a whole day crafting and watching Q***r Eye! During her time at American, Annalise was a campus store employee, student caller for AU Phonathon, and desk receptionist for AU! Annalise has interned at the National Peace Corps Association and the Middle East Media Research Institute! After graduation Annalise plans to plan to get a job in national security or intelligence! Marnina is a Beta Zeta graduating with a double major in public health and psychology! During her time in Sig Delt, Marnina served as diversity and inclusion chair, on the diversity and inclusion LGBT task force, GUIDE Q***r Greek Collective Chair and slating committee! Marnina’s favorite memory from Sig Delt is making dinner with her fam! During her time at American, Marnina was a desk receptionist, swim instructor and lavender lab research assistant! Marnina has interned at the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts, Horace Mann Elementary School and Umande Trust! We wish Marina all the best!
