Get you a shelf that can do both! My shelf pulls double duty around the holidays, starting off as a non-holiday theme that can be added on to for those who celebrate. Before my week got cut short thanks to an ill timed April Fool’s GI bug, we alternated between Spring/baby animals and Easter. Same toys, most of the same targets, different books and conversation! 🐣

What better way to target bath time vocabulary than with pets!?!?! Last week, we continued to explore words like, “WASH,” “WIPE,” “DIRTY,” “CLEAN,” “WET,” “DRY,” body parts, and my favorite, “STINKY,” while playing with favorites like wind-up toys and Little People, Mr. Potato Head animals, and bubbles. Targeting activities of daily living in therapy this month has made sure that all of my clients have the words they need to care for their body easily accessible on their devices, and has made a big difference in creating home programs that work for families’ real lives! 🛁

Space week has been by far one of our favorites! I drove an hour away to get this rocket set for our clinic on FB marketplace, because a) it’s super expensive to buy new, b) it’s one of the few place sets that features a dark skinned astronaut, and c) it has a bed! It’s so fun to take daily routines - like driving, sleeping, and eating - and see how astronauts, robots, and aliens might do those things. You haven’t lived until you’ve heard tiny autistic kids using astronaut, robot, and alien voices all day 🤩

Sometimes I feel the weight of my kids’ futures on my shoulders. It can feel isolating to prioritize joy and connection in a world that seems determined to turn its best children into broken horses. But today was not one of those days! There were so many neurodiversity-affirming sessions at that I couldn’t make it to them all! I spent much-valued time with and celebrated my awesome colleagues (congrats ), made new friends (here’s looking to you .ot and ), and grinned from ear to ear while sitting on the floor because Kentucky is so eager to learn from the that we filled a conference room beyond capacity. My social battery may be drained but my heart is full. Thanks KSHA 2026! Time to get back to work!

It’s always an honor to yap about things I love with rooms full of my new best friends! That said, my talks are done and now it’s time to sit back and enjoy the convention 💖
