VA Code 22.1-279.8 “… no later than two school days after an incident in which physical restraint or seclusion has been implemented, the school personnel involved in the incident or other school personnel, as may be designated by the principal, shall complete and provide to the principal or the principles designate a written report the school division shall provide the parent with a copy of the incident report within seven calendar days of the incident.“

It can be tough to speak up, but try to remember you are one of the best advocates for your child. Meetings don’t have to be contentious or negative. Often times they are great ways to stop and celebrate the wins! Advocating doesn’t equal fighting.
