We’re closing out Feeder Spirit Week with a great opportunity for our scholars to receive FREE virtual tutoring, courtesy of our friends at Georgetown DC Reads. Stay tuned for more great activities to come, and have a great weekend!

Today we’re highlighting Ms. Luk, one of our community partners from Hillcrest Children and Family Center. Ms. Luk is a mental health therapist at Hillcrest who works with our school to support the behavioral and emotional health of the students, families, and staff that make up the Smothers community. Ms. Luk works with students in 1-on-1 , group and family settings with the goal of helping students be happy, healthy and safe. She is available to talk about any questions, concerns, and consult about behavior or emotional needs a student may have.

It’s Day 3 of Feeder Spirit Week and today we’re showcasing all things teaching and learning! At Smothers, we pride ourselves on delivering quality instruction to our scholars every day! Check us out in action!

Dear Ward 7 Community,

On behalf of the entire staff of Smothers Elementary, it is my pleasure to join you as we celebrate this exciting week, highlighting our feeder pattern schools. Our feeder pattern helps determine the schools our scholars will matriculate to once they leave Smothers. And it is critical that we share as much information about our students’ future schools as possible.

The Smothers family consists of parents, staff, and community members who are committed to ensuring our students learn at the highest levels, just as our colleagues at Kelly Miller Middle School and H.D. Woodson High School do each day. I hope parents will use this week to discover all the amazing things going on at our feeder schools.

As partners in education, together, we will ensure that our students are well prepared to become active and contributing members of society.
