On his yahrzeit, we remember Elie Wiesel, a survivor of Auschwitz, recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize and Presidential Medal of Freedom, human rights hero, humanitarian and author of over 50 books, including “Night.”

Wiesel co-founded Moment magazine in 1975 to create a venue for independent conversation among America’s Jews, later becoming a friend and mentor to Nadine Epstein after she took over as editor-in-chief in 2004.
