“Innovation must be global because patients’ needs are also a global priority.”
— Rogério Vivaldi

What does it take to transform scientific discovery into solutions that improve people’s lives?

For Rogério Vivaldi, physician, biotechnology executive, rare disease pioneer, and Dimensions Sciences supporter, it takes more than scientific expertise.

It takes understanding patients, innovation, collaboration, access—and how to turn research into real-world impact.

In our latest conversation, Rogério shares why he believes in investing in the next generation of scientists and why he chose to support Dimensions Sciences.

A special thank you to Maria Clara, returning DS volunteer with our Marketing & Partnerships team, for editing this interview and helping bring Rogério’s perspectives to our community. 💙

What does Brazilian science in the United States look like?

The ScientistA 2026 applicant pool gives us a glimpse—and there is a lot to celebrate.

This year, Brazilian women scientists applied from institutions across multiple U.S. states, representing universities, hospitals, research centers, and laboratories and a remarkable range of scientific fields:

🧬 Biological & Biomedical Sciences
🩺 Medical & Health Sciences
⚙️ Engineering & Applied Sciences
🌱 Agricultural, Food & Veterinary Sciences
🌎 Earth & Environmental Sciences

But behind every number, institution, and point on the map is a scientist—advancing knowledge, asking important questions, developing solutions, and contributing to research with the potential to make an impact far beyond the laboratory.

That is what ScientistA is about: increasing the recognition and visibility of Brazilian women scientists making an impact internationally.

Now we want to hear from you:

👇 What surprised you most about this year’s applicant community—the geographic reach, the institutions, or the diversity of research fields?

And if you know a Brazilian woman scientist working in the U.S., tag her below. Let’s make this community more visible.

"Where's Bob?"

That question followed Bob Chapman throughout his life.

At his Celebration of Life, we finally learned why.

Bob had a way of being everywhere—not because he was busy, but because he always made time for people.

As family, friends, colleagues, and members of the Dimensions Sciences community shared their memories, one theme echoed through every story:

❤️ Bob showed up.

He listened.

He encouraged.

He connected people.

He inspired others to become the best version of themselves.

His legacy isn't only found in the organizations he helped build or the collaborations he championed.

It's found in people.

If you knew Bob, we'd love to hear your favorite memory in the comments.

If you didn't have the chance to meet him, we hope his story inspires you to invest in someone else's future.

Together, we can continue supporting the people behind the science that changes the world.

❤️ If you'd like to honor Bob's legacy, please consider supporting Dimensions Sciences (link in bio).

Today, we invite our community to pause for a moment of silence in honor of Bob Chapman.

Bob helped build Dimensions Sciences from its very beginning. He believed deeply in the power of science to improve lives and dedicated himself to creating opportunities for others. Through his generosity, wisdom, curiosity, and unwavering encouragement, he inspired scientists, volunteers, colleagues, and friends across the world.

His legacy lives on in every scientist he encouraged, every connection he helped create, and every future leader who will benefit from his vision.

💙 If Bob touched your life, we invite you to honor him today:
• Take a quiet moment in his memory.
• Share a favorite memory or lesson he taught you in the comments.
• Or simply leave a 💙 to let his family and our community know you are remembering him with us.

Thank you, Bob. Your kindness, leadership, and belief in people will continue to guide Dimensions Sciences for generations to come.

With gratitude,
The Dimensions Sciences Community

This Independence Day, we celebrate more than history.

We celebrate the freedom to ask questions.
The freedom to imagine.
The freedom to discover.

Every scientific breakthrough begins with curiosity—and with someone willing to challenge what is already known.

At Dimensions Sciences, we believe in fueling tomorrow's discoveries by investing in today's scientists.

Innovation thrives when talented scientists have access to opportunity, mentorship, and community.

Today, we celebrate the researchers, mentors, and future scientific leaders whose curiosity will shape tomorrow.

Happy Fourth of July!

What if one mentor could change the direction of your scientific career? 🧠✨

As an early-career neuroscientist, one of the biggest challenges isn't only doing great science—it's finding mentors who genuinely invest in your growth.

That's why I'm excited to see Dr. Mychael Lourenço joining the Dimensions Sciences Bridges 2026 program as an Ambassador.

Knowing that applications will be reviewed and scholars mentored by internationally recognized scientists makes this opportunity even more meaningful. It's a reminder that the right guidance can open doors, build confidence, and inspire bigger dreams.

If you're building a career in neuroscience, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

💬 If you had the chance to ask one question to an experienced neuroscience mentor, what would it be? Share it below—and tag a colleague who shouldn't miss this opportunity.

Have you ever wondered how many scientific breakthroughs never happen because someone couldn't afford to stay in science?

🧠 The next discovery in neuroscience could come from a researcher studying Alzheimer's, autism, rare neurological disorders, brain injury, mental health, or neurotechnology.

But talent alone isn't always enough.

Sometimes what stands between a scientist and a breakthrough is mentorship. A community. A chance to keep going.

That's why I'm excited about the DS Bridges 2026 Program.

💙 If you're a scientist:
This is your reminder that your ideas matter. Your research matters. Your journey matters. Don't count yourself out. Apply.

🤝 If you're a donor:
Your support does more than fund a scholarship. It helps a scientist stay in the game, build a career, and create discoveries that could improve lives around the world.

The best investment isn't just in research.
It's in the people behind the research.

Today, you can be part of that story:
✨ Apply.
✨ Donate.
✨ Share this opportunity with someone who should see it.

And here's a challenge:
Tag a scientist, mentor, or supporter who changed your journey in STEM. Let's celebrate the people who build the future of science together. 👇
