What books did you learn from this year?
Another year of reminding you that it is not required to read 200 books a year to be well read and intellectual. Yes I listen to audiobooks argue with your momma about it.
Really phasing out self help books and sad I didn’t read more fiction this year. Gonna have to add more in the mix next year.

Woke up today and realized… it’s publication week!! If you didn’t know, me and are not only money friends—we’re now officially co-authors!
Who would’ve thought two years of friendship would lead to this? There’s truly no one else I’d rather have taken this journey with.
Personal Finance for Teens is finally here, and it’s a beautiful masterpiece designed to help you explain money things to the teens in your life. Whether they’re in middle school or high school, it’s never too early (or too late) to start talking about money and building real financial skills.

Going to an HBCU changed the entire trajectory of my life.
When I stepped foot on Hampton University’s campus 11 years ago.. I told my momma to cut the check cuz this was the place for me (not joking)
I no longer take time and energy explaining the power of an HBCU because the numbers and impact speak for themselves
Every chance I get to uplift and empower my fellow HBCU grad I will

Ahh!! I’m in college (again)
Life update: I just completed my first week of Georgetown’s Learning, Design & Technology program
Yes.. on scholarship 🤓🤭
Why am I going back to school?
Great question.. the answer is to better serve you and my community
My background has strictly been in accounting and finance (I took my first accounting class nearly 15 years ago 😅)
However, my knowledge and understanding of learning design was very limited. My community did not consist of many folks within the education and learning space. Therefore, I went to seek a community that would be able to benefit me on my mission to change the way financial education is taught. Remember you must put yourself in specific environments to win!
What I am hoping to gain?
Community and mentors in the EdTech and education space. But also develop impactful, well researched financial education content to help friends like your better understand important personal finance concepts.
Financial education should be simple and accessible. Through the LDT program I plan to create content that will make a huge impact in how we teach personal finance at all levels of learning, specifically starting with American colleges and universities.
It’s been 6 whole years since I’ve been in the formal classroom but I’m excited to see my growth.
Special shoutout to my mentor for encouraging me to take the leap and invest in my education once again.
HUGE THANK YOU to , & for your glowing recommendations (literally wouldn’t be here without yall)
Stay tuned for what’s next to come 🧡
