When schools shut down in 2020, we were still in the classroom. 📚

We watched kids lose months of instruction, some over a year. Parents were doing everything they could, but they needed actual teachers who knew how to close those gaps.

So we built a team of experienced teachers, ready to tutor virtually and in person, nights and weekends, while we kept teaching through that June.

That’s how Capitol Teachers began.

Six years later, we’re still doing the same thing. Just for a lot more families - from elementary support to high school coursework and college prep. 💛

If you have a rising senior, mark August 1st on your calendar - that’s the day the Common App opens and college applications officially begin. 🎓

The Common App will shut down on July 28th around 5pm for a system refresh before the new 2026-2027 application cycle opens on August 1st.

Before the platform opens, your child can draft their personal essay and put together their activity list outside of the app so it’s ready to go on August 1st.

Students who lay the groundwork in July, update the Common App in August, begin senior year with a lot less stress.
