Remember my last post? It was me on top of a mountain in Tehran having tackled back pain after two years. The post was about not taking your health for granted….
Well flash forward to two weeks ago when I fell skiing and thought I had a bruise but nooooo I broke my femoral neck bone on my right side. My doctor send me to the ER as soon as he saw the X-ray (I had skied down on the broken hip) and he operated the next day.
I’m very very lucky I didn’t need a full hip replacement. I’m already able to use a walker and sometimes I’m brave enough to come down the stairs but not that brave lol!
Point I’m trying to make is you never know what’s around the corner but I can’t thank all my friends enough for calling and texting and bringing more food than we can possibly consume! I’m so lucky also to have a hubby who has a great bedside manner (mines not so good). So I’m hoping to get back on top of that mountain again in a few months! In the meantime Netflix and I are besties!

Your Health is a GIFT not a GIVEN….
I’ve struggled for two years with lower back pain-who can relate? I really hated not being able to do the things I loved like skiing and hiking and it made me realize that I can’t take my health for granted again. I pushed through and started exercising again to strengthen my muscles to support my back. It’s not all better but I made it to the top of the mountains in Tehran recently and I’ve continued with daily walks (more or less 😉) and YouTube channels. I really miss the gym though.
Like I’ve always said it doesn’t have to be perfect… little changes go a long way. Middle age sucks but it’s the only body I got so I’m going to be good to it. How about you guys?

I know the world is a strange place right now and you don’t have to look too long to find everything that’s wrong with it. But some days things go well. You meet a nice stranger who holds the door for you, your kids tell you they love you for no reason or your neighbor gives you a huge bottle of imported olive oil… let’s try to remember those days too.
