Had the honor last week to speak at the Honor Roll assembly for DC Public School - Brookland Middle School! 📚🎓✏️

What an incredible school, with ambitious scholars and a dedicated staff of incredible Black leaders!

Used my favorite quote, “How you do anything is how you do everything” as motivation for these young people to continue to elevate to excellence in ALL they do!

REPOST: Our Captains Council was fortunate to hear from Sequoia Austin today in the first of a three part series focused on leadership and mental resilience.

Ms.Austin is native to the DMV and a former Division 1 Athlete at the University of Maryland. Her passion is working with athletes, educators, and organizations as a mental transformational coach and speaker.

Today she challenged our leaders to focus on their why and how to leverage this purpose to elevate their teams and communities.

What an honor to work with this team this season! GDS Women’s Basketball set out to have a fun, growth-oriented, and successful season and they did just that!

Had an action-packed session yesterday, reflecting on the season and getting in our flow state as a team in preparation for tournament time.

Incredible what teams can do when they focus on their mindsets and purpose as a group! Can’t wait to build on our work next year! Go GDS Grasshoppers 😊💚

One of my favorite aspects of my Sports & Mindset programming with teams and athletic programs is ACTIVE SESSIONS.

Everyone says they have a tough and resilient mindset in the face of adversity - but how do you really know??

You put the team through a challenging, physical task and see how they respond. What leaders arise? Who can truly push past that mental wall? What do teams do when they’re back is against the ropes?

In moments of adversity, you always fall to the level of your conditioning. Where does your level currently stand?

This week I had the pleasure of doing an intro to mindset session with the Georgetown Day School Women’s Basketball Program. 🏀

We spent the afternoon crafting a team goal for the season. What do you think?!

Incredible the intention and purpose young people bring to their community and their sport when they put their minds together and get super specific about WHY they’re playing their sport.

Excited for their successful season on and off the court!

I feel like people don’t quite GRASP this idea like I want them to - but it is the CHEAT CODE.

How can you embody all the things you want for yourself in the future…RIGHT NOW? There’s no such thing as the future because it is always right now - the present.

What a gift to realize everything you want is already within you and attainable in this present moment.

And of course - this is an ENERGETIC law so no need to think “what will happen if I just lived like a millionaire” or “how can I live like I have a Lamborghini” 😒

If you take a moment to really reflect - your life can be changed in the blink of an eye with this mindset shift.

May all the miracles come your way 🙏🏽💙
