Did you know that many of your favorite country music legends were Freemasons? 🎸

Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Eddy Arnold, Roy Clark and Little Jimmy Dickens were all 33rd degree Scottish Rite Masons. Jimmie Rodgers, Tex Ritter and Jimmy Dean were brothers too. Today's stars carry on the tradition: Brad Paisley and Tyler Childers are both 32nd degree Scottish Rite Masons.

Cornerstones at the House of the Temple part 2. In our last video we shouwed you a stone used in a 1993 reenactment of the Capitol Cosner Stone laying ceremony. In this video, Chris Ruli, Asst. Grand Historian, shows a stone taken from the actual location of the original cornerstone.

The Capitol Corner Stone was laid by george Washinton Himself on September 18, 1793. The actual location of that stone is lost to history, but at the House of the Temple in Washington, there are two cornerstones on display with links to the original!

When William Clark set out with Meriwether Lewis in 1804, Clark was not a Freemason. Lewis, however, had been raised in a Virginia lodge years before. Out on the trail, across two years of freezing camps and uncertainty, Meriwether Lewis started talking to William Clark about the lessons of Freemasonry.

Clark was listening. In 1809, three years after they returned, William Clark walked into St. Louis Lodge No. 111 and became a Master Mason himself. When he died in 1838, the city gave him a funeral procession over a mile long, laying him to rest with full military and Masonic honors. ⚒️

Brethren, think about those fireside conversations Lewis and Clark must have had in the wilderness. Now, think about the good men in your own life who might be looking for that same light and brotherhood. Don't be shy about having those conversations!
