What will happen if you connect a dosimeter to an oscilloscope? I tried it; the dosimeter circuit is shown in the figure. A charged particle enters the gas discharge tube, ionizing the gas; for a short time, it becomes a conductor, as a result of which the voltage drops sharply, and you get the kind of oscillogram you see in the video. I used a zinc plate approximately 2 mm thick; beta radiation does not pass through this obstacle. I assume this is gamma radiation. What do you think?

This is an old Soviet compass inside a homemade Wilson chamber. At the bottom of the chamber, there is a radiator that is placed in liquid nitrogen. At the top, there is a sponge with alcohol; I used isopropyl alcohol, which, when strongly cooled, becomes supersaturated or supercooled v***r. This is a metastable substance that, when a charged particle passes through it, promotes the formation of a liquid — in this case, traces of fog, which you can see in this video. Perhaps it is also possible to detect uncharged particles in the form of high‑energy gamma quanta or secondary cosmic radiation. I have sometimes seen tracks of particles that are unknown to me. But in this video, it’s more likely to be radium undergoing alpha decay. That’s what compasses were like many years ago. Be careful with them.

I tried to use different oscillatory systems to achieve some kind of oscillation synchronization. So, the law of conservation of momentum, together with an electromagnetic pendulum, created a certain equilibrium state of the oscillatory ensemble. Can this be called spontaneous synchronization?

I call this phenomenon interference vortices in soap films. Ultrasonic pressure, together with interference, creates the swirls in soap films that you see. I haven’t come up with a theory for this phenomenon yet. But maybe you can!
